European Researchers’ Night in Slovakia
European Researchers’ Night is the largest scientific festival in Slovakia, bringing the latest developments and information from the world of research and innovation in an inspiring and unique way.
The festival takes place annually on the last Friday of September in Bratislava, Košice, Banská Bystrica, Žilina, Poprad, and other accompanying locations.
The all-day program offers a series of scientific presentations, discussions, practical experiments, workshops, technological attractions, and much more.
Science is not just confined to laboratories and research centers—it is part of our daily lives and a key factor in addressing the greatest challenges we face as humanity. Supporting and advancing science is essential for the future of our society and our planet.
The festival is part of a Europe-wide initiative supported by the European Commission since 2006. Across Europe, more than 25 countries and 300 cities participate in this initiative. Each year, the festival attracts more than 1.5 million visitors.
In Slovakia, the 2025 edition marks the 19th year of this event.
In 2024, the festival in Slovakia hosted over 130,000 visitors, including 70,000 pupils and students, and featured 1,400 scientists.
Co-organizers of the festival: Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV), Center for Scientific and Technical Information (CVTI SR), Euractiv Slovakia.
