Knowledge bridges
The project “Building Knowledge Bridges: Supporting Dialogue with the Diaspora for Slovakia’s Modernization,” abbreviated as Knowledge Bridges, focuses on creating closer connections between Slovaks living abroad and domestic institutions to contribute to innovation, economic growth, and Slovakia’s modernization.
The main goal is to promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of experiences between the Slovak diaspora and professionals working in Slovakia. The project addresses challenges related to the limited engagement of the diaspora in local development and aims to strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem. By linking Slovakia with scientific talent living abroad, the project brings benefits not only in the form of economic growth but also by enhancing the country’s reputation as an innovative and attractive place for professional collaboration. In this way, the project supports the internationalization of the academic sector, expands cross-sectoral cooperation networks, and strengthens Slovakia’s global competitiveness.
The project implementation includes:
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in conversations on topics such as the internationalization of the academic sector, research, innovation, and career opportunities in Slovakia.
The primary target audience includes members of the Slovak diaspora, young researchers, students, academics, professionals from various fields, and the general public.
The project emphasizes supporting young people in discovering career opportunities in Slovakia and creating an environment where the diaspora can share their knowledge and expertise. By involving schools and academic institutions, the project aims to inspire the younger generation to participate in innovative activities and support them in building their careers.
In addition to professional outputs, the project aspires to raise public awareness about the contributions of the diaspora and encourage broader community participation in science and innovation topics. The project’s strategy also includes promoting its activities through social media and podcasts, allowing it to reach a wider audience and maintain a continuous dialogue between Slovaks at home and abroad.
