Partnerships and Cooperation
All involved can benefit from effective cooperation among academic community, private sector and state administration. Present situation in this area in Slovakia is far from being ideal. Among these sectors there is only a low degree of co-operation, furthermore, all involved show visible signs of distrust. Fragmentation often occurs even inside particular R&D organizations. Final result of such situation is practically no existence of interdisciplinary units, or bigger infrastructural units such as well functioning R&D parks.
Moreover, it is evident that in Slovakia the potential of research institutions is not enough exploit. This happens because of inefficient interaction between science and society-economy. Still more in theory than in reality are issues such as commercialization of R&D, commercialization of licensing and patents, financing of potentially profitable ideas and inventions through innovative forms of funding, as well as building small innovative businesses based on R&D results.
Our goal is to initiate or to support and to carry out following activities aimed at building functioning relations and connections among the academic community, the public and the private sector:
- preparing university programs meeting the needs of society and private sector
- support of establishing academic research teams meeting the needs of private sector
- events aimed at interconnecting academic community and private sector
- support of R&D commercialization
- support of establishing platforms for discussing the needs of interaction between the research, private and public sectors
- support of international cooperation within the R&D area in a relation to regional development
- other relevant services such as organizing conferences, seminars, courses etc.
